Man's Death Blamed On Asbestos Exposure

The death of a man from Gloucestershire in the UK was due to exposure to the deadly substance asbestos-despite the fact that during an investigation of the coroner said that not an asbestos fiber was found in the lungs of the man after his death. However, the man in the past had provided details of his work with asbestos before he died.

The verdict, recorded for the death of Mr. Gerard Thorley at the age of 69 years, had died from an industrial disease. Mr. Thorley died in November of last year, and before he died, he made a statement detailing all the work with asbestos in the past. Between 1954 and 1959, Mr. Thorley had worked as an apprentice carpenter, with asbestos wool as part of his work. Between 1961 and 1971 he worked for another company in which he had to work regularly with the deadly substance.

And between 1986 and 1992 he worked for the Council, where he was responsible for reviewing the properties of an asbestos presence. Although no traces of asbestos were found in the lungs of Mr. Thorley, the doctors explained that he had classical symptoms of mesothelioma and that consequently his death was exposed by asbestos.
